Luc Abalo transfers to Paris Saint Germain
Paris Handball
Atlético Madrid handball club has decided to accept PSG’s offer for the French player Luc Abalo. The Madrid outfit has given in to the demands of their Gallic wing left who had asked to be allowed to return to his native country for family reasons. “When a player wants to go it is impossible to keep him. We want dedicated players who want to be a part of our family. Unfortunately Luc wasn’t such a player”, said Luis Miguel López, director general of BM Atlético de Madrid, in a club-sanctioned statement. Atlético Madrid will earn around €700,000 for the transfer of one of the best wing left in the world.
The 27-year old French international arrived at the club in 2008 when it was still known as BM Ciudad Real, winning, amongst others, two ASOBAL league titles, one ASOBAL Cup, one Copa del Rey, one European Cup and one Club World Cup. Under the new club name Atlético de Madrid he has helped them win one Copa del Rey and one Spanish Supercup.
